Allen’s Wife (And Other Tales)

Copyright Date 1889, First Edition First Printing. Allan’s Wife And Other Tales. Spencer Blackett, London, 1889. Original Brown Cloth Lettered In Gilt Decorated In Black. First Edition. Sir Henry Rider Haggard (1856-1925) Was An English Writer Of Adventure Fiction Set In Exotic Locations, Predominantly Africa, And A Pioneer Of The Lost World Literary Genre. He Was Also Involved In Agricultural Reform Throughout The British Empire. His Stories, Situated At The Lighter End Of Victorian Literature, Continue To Be Popular And Influential. Though Haggard Bibliographies Do Not Indicate The Number Of Copies Printed, We Suspect It May Have Been A Relatively Small Number, As We Find This To Be A Somewhat Uncommon Haggard Title (Remarkably, A Copy Sold At Auction In New York In March 1993 Four $605 )
